#12 is the only number retired by URI football. Here is his URI Hall of Fame biography:

"THOMAS E. EHRHARDT '86 was the greatest quarterback in Ram football history. In just two years at URI he set nearly every passing record at Kingston and in New England. Ehrhardt was a two-time, first-team All-America (1AA), All-New England, and All-Yankee Conference selection in 1984 and 1985 and Conference Player of the Year in 1985. He led the Rams to a pair of Conference championships and two NCAA playoffs in which the team advanced to the semifinals in 1984. The Rams finished second in the national polls that year and seventh in 1985. Ehrhardt, who won several Golden Helmets, symbolic of the top weekly performance in New England football, is the only football player in Ram history to have his number (12) retired."

He's a perennial candidate for the College Football Hall of Fame, but has not gotten in yet.

Edited to add: His average year for the two years he played was 336.5 completions on 590.5 attempts for 4189 yards (12.45 per completion, 7.09 per attempt), with 39 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. That was back in the mid-80's, the game has certainly gotten more pass friendly since then.

His 26.92 completions per game would be fourth in the FCS last year. His 39 passing TD's a year would rank 4th. His 4189 yards a year would be 3rd. His yards per game would be 2nd. His yards per completion would be 44th. His yards per attempt would be tied for 65th. But he was doing all of that in a 1984-85 passing game, not 2022.
