...is that Kirk Ferentz is going to be the new Michigan coach.

I say good riddance!

I've heard the same thing. Les Miles seemed to top the list for some time. But the spin with Ferentz has been that despite the poor performance of his teams in the last few years, if he were at Michigan, he'd get higher caliber recruits than at Iowa.

I don't know what his buyout at iowa is. Miles LSU buyout is 1.5 million.

Ferentz apparently has been approched by NFL teams before and declined, so who knows.

That surprises me. With, what is being characterized as an underachieving year for Michigan, they are still 8-3. Why would they go for a coach who has struggled at Iowa and is barely bowl elegible?

I thought I remember reading Ferentz was one of the highest paid coaches in college football. I can't imagine paying him will be much less expensive than paying LSU to get Les Miles.

Hell, if I were the President at Iowa, I'd waive the buyout clause to get rid of Ferentz.

I was in Baton Rouge this weekend and the fire was hot on Les Miles. They went from marching to keep Les, to running to get rid of him. xlolx

At the beginning of the season, I was on travel grabbing a bite to eat at a pub in San Jose. I wound up chatting up college football with a guy from Lousianna who was a big LSU fan.
I told him I felt sorry for him. I believed at that time, and still do, that LSU has the most talented team in the country. But there's no way in hell they were going to go undeafeted with Les Miles as their head coach! They're lucky they don't have 2 more losses this season!!!!

My friend who's an Ohio St. fan is hoping that Les Miles gets the Michigan job! xnodx

LSU really should have beaten Arkansas and Kentucky, there's plenty of talent on that team and they have alot of depth. They have so many running backs it's crazy. Williams and Scott should touch the ball more.

As a Michigan fan I could not be less excited if this was true. Why not wait & see if we could get someone like Les Miles or Brian Kelly. Hell even the Jon Gruden rumor is much better.

We've got a hell of a better deal for a fraction of the price. Our record speaks for itself. Iowa's....well. They're Iowa.

Both of their losses came in triple overtime, so they are as close to perfect as anyone else.

That is true. He's done a good job, but LSU is a tough place to coach. Heck any where in Louisiana is tough. Ask Rod Broadway at Grambling. xlolx

And LSU could have also just as easily lost to Florida, Alabama, and Auburn. LSU squeeked by those teams, so it should be expected that they would lose a game or two.
