Hotel recommendation for hotel near UNI Dome.
I see the UNI Dome is on Hudson street?
I assume it's in that big empty block between 12th and 27th streets?
What hotel does visiting team usually stay?
Thanks for your help.
P.S. Looking to do this on the cheap!

Any of the hotels are within a 5-10 min. drive, including anything on University, Hwy. 58, Hudson, and Main St.

There is one on Main Street; that's the closest one I know of.
Yes it is.
That sounds about right. xthumbsupx
No clue.

There's a Holiday Inn on University Avenue near several restaurants and College Square Shopping Center and not too far to the UNI-Dome either. Maybe contact the Delaware Athletics Dept. about where the team will be staying. -unicat87

Unigriff has a sofa in his front yard you can crash on. That funny smell is either mold or bodily fluids (or both).

There is the Blackhawk Hotel on Main St, kind of an old style/classic hotel. Or right behind on State St (?) is Trails End Lodge which is a cheaper motel type of deal.
Both are right down town by many Bars/Restaurants and about a 5 minute ride to the dome...about 25 minute ride back dealing with traffic getting out of the dome.

The Wingate Hotel is on Hudson road...about 4 miles south of the Dome. It's brand new and pretty nice from what I hear. Here is a link:

Most visiting teams stay at the Ramada Inn in downtown Waterloo. It's a ways from the Dome and Cedar Falls, but it's fairly close to some nice "adult" establishments.xsmiley_wix

That Remada is badly in need of a wrecking ball, IMHO.
The Wingate, Black Hawk Hotel and Holiday Inn are all good suggestions. There is a Comfort Inn & Suites not far out, and a Country Inn that is fairly new which is actually the closest to the UNI-Dome.

Here are my recommendations based on value. Not the cheapest and certainly not the highest priced.
Heartland Inn (near Hwy 20 & Hwy 63)
(319) 232-7467
AmericInn Lodge & Suites 5818 Nordic Dr.
(319) 277-6166 or 1-800-634-3444
Comfort Suites 7402 Nordic Drive
(319) 273-9999 or (800) 424-6423.
Holiday Inn University Plaza 5826 University Ave.
(319) 277-2230 or 1-800-465-4329
Yes, visiting team usually stay at
Ramada
(319) 233-7560
Country Inn & Suites 2910 S. Main St.
(319) 268-1800 or 1-800-456-4000
Blackhawk Hotel 115 Main St.
(319) 277-1161 or (800) 488-HAWK (4295).
UNI Dome is on Hudson Road north of 27th St. But not up to 12th that is a long way away. Parking is near 23rd St and also south of 27th.

I would not stay at the Trails End Lodge unless you are on a SERIOUS budget. The nicest ones are probably the:
AmericINN
Wingate
Country Inn and Suites on Main St.
There is also a Days Inn on University right next to the Holiday Inn

Tell us what you thought of CF and the UNI-Dome.
Just curious.

Very impressed by the Dome.
I don't think the noise hampered UNH at all, I don't think it will bother UD.
Both teams seem to feed off it. (UNI more so xsmiley_wix )
Plus Deleware is used to big crowds.
Anyone going to tailgate needs to bring some sort of a wind break.
I'm still a little pissed the weather report was for 42 and sunny.xmadx
That wind was howling.
The support from the town was impressive, UNI gear every where...alot like Marshall. Any eastener heading out will like the prices in the bars.xthumbsupx
The new hoops court and walkway from the Dome to it are outstanding. You should be very proud.
I ran into your track coach, who's from Mass, he told us about the medical building...I think we even had a kid get a cast there.
Just a great facility.

As already stated in another thread, the students will be back this weekend. It will be MUCH louder than the UNH game. xthumbsupx

Days Inn in Cedar Falls is the best place to stay for cheap. It is the second closest, clean (not nice, clean) and cheap.
The opposing players used to stay at the Holiday in on University. Does anyone here know why they now stay over in Waterloo? Trump? Anybody?

I echo everything yorkcounty has said... just a great time (except for the last 12 seconds or so)... but as to that track coach, turned out he was from my hometown of Beverly, MA and we both graduated from the same high school (actually got to talk a little high school thanksgiving football) with him... small world..
We stayed at the Black hawk in downtown cedar falls and liked it a lot... old, historical building and a welcome change from the same ole chain hotels... also was impressed with main street in CF - very clean, well kept and great restaurants and bars - also looked great at night with all the lights...

If none of the hotels mentioned above work out, there are also many of the chain hotels in Waterloo right off US 218 where I-380 ends. They are right next to a large shopping area with many restaurants. Easy access over to the Dome via US 20 or US 218 (through downtown Waterloo).
There is also a big casino complex off I-380 near the US 20 split.
