I'd like to be wrong, but I have no faith in Josh Greco. Nice to see him get that TD, but the subsequent dropped snap, slip behind the line and INT are more the sort of thing I expect from him. Unless Alan Holland comes back in, I'd say the Colonels haven't got a chance.

Any chance the Richmond/Wofford game is at Wofford? Too far for me to drive the Saturday prior to finals but it'd be great for Wofford to get to host and Gibbs is a great stadium.

The Richmond TV guys said it was in Wofford.

Congrats to EKU on a great season, the Spiders knocked out the QB, may have been a closer game with him in there.

They told the Richmond to be prepared to travel to Wofford for the next game.

Congrats to Wofford on beating Montana, but your reward is the Spiders!

Richmond dominated this game from the opening bell. Neither QB was effective for EKU, and they had great difficulty running the ball. 278 rushing yards for the Spiders. Hightower and Vaughn both very impressive, and Eric Ward was efficient, and avoided turnovers. Great special teams play from the Spiders, as well.

The Spiders play very physical football and the Colonels knew they would have to expect smash-mouth football from Hightower. There weren't any surprises there. I felt the Colonel defense played good enough to win and limited the damage. The offense, however, underperformed. EKU hasn't been giving balls up this season or failling to move the chains. Part of that is that Richmond is among the best teams Eastern has played this year, so it was going to take a superb effort for EKU to win. But another part is that starting QB Holland has apparently not been practicing for roughly two weeks because of soreness in his shoulder. That would explain his inneffectiveness in this game and the two final OVC contests. Before those final three games, he was a model of passing efficiency. He clearly was not that yesterday. Without an effective passing game, it was going to be hard to fool Richmond on the run.

I'm not suggesting the Colonels would have won going away yesterday... but I believe it would have been a much more competetive game. All the same, Richmond plays very conservative, sound, physical football. It has obviously carried them further than expected this year and I'm eager to see what they are able to do against the SoCon champ.

GoColonels!

Turnovers, turnovers.

We lived by them all year. Last night we died by them. I wouldn't say that we necessarily might have won without coughing it up four times. Richmond is a more talented team than EKU. But not 31-14 more talented. Without the turnovers, I think we would have had a chance.

Still, congrats to Richmond--got a reasonable shot at going all the way, I think.

And congrats to Coach Hope and the team for a memorable season.
