This is the first year I have attempted to do the countdown and it is proving more difficult than I could ever have imagined. Currently there are at least 60 players who have not been assigned numbers on the McNeese roster and since I have posted on some other days the players I have posted about are no longer listed on the current roster due to graduation and the "writing on the wall." I guess this is what happens when you begin rebuilding a program as second year Coach Goff is doing.

With that said, there is no 85 currently assigned. Here is brand new defensive line coach Jamere Hogue:

TITLE Assistant Coach - DL

This is Coach Hogue's bio from Gardner-Webb

Jamere Hogue is in his third season as an assistant coach at Gardner-Webb, where he leads a talented and disruptive group of defensive linemen. Hogue welcomes back a veteran group in 2022, led by All-America candidate Ty French and returing starters in tackles Janathian Turner and Charlie Jackson.
The group helped Gardner-Webb lead the Big South in third down defense in 2021, with French, Turner, Jackson and senior Shai Thomas pacing that effort. French was named to the Hero Sports Sophomore All-America Team and was a first-team All-Big South choice for the second season in a row.
Hogue’s front four was one of the nation’s best in the spring 2021 season, ranking No. 6 in sacks and No. 8 in tackles for loss. French was named Big South Defensive Freshman of the Year, earned Freshman All-America honors and was first-team All-Big South choice.
Hogue joined the GWU family in January following three seasons at Division II Tusculum (Tenn.) College. During his time with the Pioneers, Hogue coached the defensive line, handle duties as the team’s equipment coordinator and oversaw the Pioneers’ student assistant program.
One of Hogue’s pupils, defensive end Nelson Louis, was named South Atlantic Conference Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2018 after posting 17 tackles for loss. Another, tackle Colton Strickland, earned second-team All-SAC honors in 2018.
Prior to his time in Greeneville, Tenn., Hogue worked as the defensive line coach at Brevard (N.C.) College on the Division II level. He also served as the program’s Strength & Conditioning Coordinator and oversaw the Tornados’ study hall.
As a student-athlete, the Morristown, Tenn., native starred on the defensive line at Tennessee Tech. A three-year starter, Hogue helped the Golden Eagles to the 2011 OVC Championship – serving as a team captain on that squad. He was a teammate of current Gardner-Webb head coach Tre Lamb and Special Teams Coordinator Taylor Hennigan.
Hogue was named the Golden Eagles’ Most Valuable Defensive Lineman as a senior in 2011 and finished his career with 82 total tackles. He played one season at tight end before moving to the defensive side of the ball.
Hogue graduated from Tennessee Tech in 2012 with a degree in exercise and social sciences. He played high school football at Morristown West (Tenn.) High, lettering in three sports. He was a three-time All-Conference choice in football and basketball and also lettered with the Track & Field team. Hogue was an All-Northeast Tennessee selection in football.
He and his wife, Jacquie, are the proud parents of daughter, Jazlynn and Jakai.
