WOW!!! I mean, I'm shocked! I haven't been this shocked since I learned Barry Bonds was linked with steroids! xrolleyesx
Seriously, I thought today was ironic. Both Franchione and Houston Nutt (Arkansas) won today, but both guys were done, regardless of how their teams did. If Nutt hasn't stepped down yet as of my posting this, he will. That guy so mishandled the Arkansas job, I doubt he'll ever get another shot at a big time (i.e., BCS) head coaching position.

What was up with the "private email incident" referenced by the AD on the bottom of the release?? I saw Dennis being interviewed after the game and he was EXTREMELY tight lipped, and when asked about how does he feel about his players, just shrugged but I could tell he didnt want to answer for fear of breaking up.

It was revealed a few weeks ago that Franchione was offering to a handful of boosters certain "privileged" information about injuries among the players. That privilege only cost said boosters $1200 per booster. For that price, they got a weekly email injury report. This information was not released to any other sources.
The ONLY reason anyobody would want this info is for gambling purposes. When the story came to light, it was clear A&M had to fire Franchione. In fact, they had their lawyers pour over his contract to see if he violated any clauses, thus aleviating the university of having a buyout.

Franchione rubbed so many people in Alabama the wrong way, I'm surprised he didn't learn his lesson, but obviously he didn't.

To add to the email fiasco is the fact he would not release injury reports to the media, only to the "V.I.P." boosters.xnonono2x xnonono2x xnonono2x

It wasn't just injuries, it was a full "newsletter" detailing news from practice. Apparently the actual emails were exceedingly bland. He also charged somewhere around $1,200 to subscribe to the list. The money all went to his own website. Just a real sleezy scenario all around.
At least he can tell the next school that will hire him that he went out on top....

I'm not an A&M fan...but Franchione should of been fired a long time ago. They have everything in Aggie land and still can't get it done.

Wow!!! A&M continues to befuddle me. This sure has hell isn't an upgrade. The only upside I can see is if Sherman is working for far less money then Franchione. The administration seems to be saying, "Hey, we're ok with mediocrity, so long as we change coaches every few years"
