Last year's Hampton team with Shepard and Coleman was one of the best the MEAC had fielded in many years. Look up their stats and record when they played together (what, 3-4 years?). That's an apples-to-oranges comparison.

AOL Weather says 16 mph. That's pretty stout and I'm sure its gusting higher.

Delaware QB looks like an NFL prospect to me. Course he's got a strong wind with him. But sometimes it's hard to be accurate with a strong wind behind. Be interesting to see how he looks against the wind. That is if they haven't gotten so big a lead by that time that they quit throwing the ball downfield.

I have watched, played, and coached, enough football in my life to say three things for certain:

1. Del State has a BAAAAAD case of the nerves.
2. All DSU's comebacks may come back to haunt them. They were not playing teams of the caliber of UD.
3. They are simply NOT executing.

That being said...if they settle down and make this stop...who know, however UD is moving the ball through swiss cheese.

This will be a 35 pt spread sooner...rather than later.

This game makes me think about my belief that the better power rating systems are better than polls. They showed that poll with Delaware State rated higher than Delaware. But Sagarin's ratings have Delaware rated way higher.

I remember McNeese being "upset" by Northern Arizona in 2003. It was considered an upset because McNeese was ranked #1 in the polls and seeded #1. But, going into the game, Northern Arizona was actually the favorite according to Sagarin's ratings. Not by a big margin like they won by, but the favorite.

I know it works the other way sometimes. But I don't think you often see things as way off in the better power ratings as you see with stuff like Delaware State being rated higher than Delaware going into this game.

Not unless you consider Boogs' rating system one of the better systems.
