How hard is it to show up to court? Not good at all for QB Oliver of JSU...
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- When he missed a municipal court date in Magee this week, Jackson State quarterback Jimmy Oliver was convicted on two charges and given a $1,000 fine and 21 days in jail.
The Clarion-Ledger reported on its Web site late Wednesday that that Oliver, a senior from Columbia, was arrested in Magee on Oct. 25 and charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle.
Court records show he bonded out and was released the same day. A passenger, Michael Avrett, was charged with possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana.
