Booo Eastern Illinois.
Did Albany get woofed? I don't think so, but according to the GPI they did.

Where's Dayton amongst the 'bubble' teams? ;)

According to the committee's guidelines the GPI has removed teams with four losses or more in the past and now it's teams that do not have 7 D-I wins.

I believe Nova was woofed because their true-FR QB is banged up and couldn't hardly walk after the UD game. With that, along with UNH having a healthy Santos, UNH gets the nod. Santos winning the Payton last yr doesn't hurt either.

UNH's higher GPI and more quality wins don't hurt, either. :)

"The Gridiron Power Index (GPI), the hybrid ranking for FCS and top index indicator of at-large playoff selection..."
Hahahahaha. I don't know why we need 2 threads on this but here's my take:
Wow, for what used to be the self-proclaimed most accurate predictor of the playoff field, the 3-letter fraud really crapped the bed this year. Seriously, every poster on this site could've nailed more correct picks.
3 or 4 teams in it's top 16: YSU, Villanova & Elon/GSU (tie) all left out. Meanwhile the 20th & 37th rated teams make it as at-large's. Time to fix those computers boys.

Well, the 20th was reasonable considering the teams that were ineligible. It seems Eastern Illinois got in over a number of teams that were probably more deserving.

Villanova got screwed. That is the bottom line.
Disclaimer:
Do I think Dayton should have been in over Delaware. No sir.

West Georgia ( one of our wins) would beat Dartmouth and Iona. The committee showed thier bias no doubt.

Big deal !! We beat App in Boone and Wofford on the road ? Both in the top 10 when we played them. Anyone else do that ?
Nova should have made it over UNH.

Nova should have made it over UNH.GSU had the SoCon in their hand and went wide right. Didn't even get on the board with seven D-I wins. Nova should have made it instead of EIU according to the GPI, not instead of UNH.

the 7 win thing didnt come out of nowhere, teams know the minimum of what they need to do each year to be in the discussions for playoffs./

we play Dartmouth because there an instate school and there Div I we dont play St Anselms or Plymouth State just cause there instate.
We dont play Iona every year but ya we usually play a NEC type team each year because well, thats the only ones we can get to come to Durham and we need the home game.
Georgia Southern should have no problem getting teams down there.

The Sports Network Poll was 8 for 8 in selecting at-large teams using the same "7 D-1 win" guidelines that the GPI does.

One point in the GPI. You have your preseason ranking in polls to thank for that.Nova was higher in all computer models used in determining GPI.
And what where do you see more "quality" wins? Marshall had a sagarin rating of 127 which is right about the middle of your opponents this year.... Hofstra was higher at 117,but N'eastern was lower at 147.(And you lost to them;) ) In our FCS games UNH & Nova had identical records vs UMass, UR, UD, JMU, Maine & Hof. Here is the GPI of our other wins...
UNH .... URI-49, Dart-77 & Iona-101
Nova ....W&M-33, Tow-50, LU-59 & Penn-67
