Gotta love it. ESPN just had a statement from the feds that had the guy quoting they have proof Bonds knowingly took steroids.

5 counts total against him and positive steroid tests.

I say Selig goes down too.

Paper says that Bonds will most assuredly be back next year.

And why the heck not? He's a fine guy, the fans adore him!!

Where the heck do you think they came up with the idea of the Transformers anyway. And the fans loved them. xlolxxlolxxlolx

The Feds don't bring things to trial unless they have a real case, and the only two people who would really know if Bonds perjured or not are Bonds (who's probably not going to roll on himself) and Anderson. They must have something...

I've read the entire indictment. That has to be the weakest evidence I've ever seen. There is nothing that proves perjury in that indictment. I don't see how the government proves their case with that weak indictment. Their only hope is to seat a jury full of Bonds haters.

Like I said, what did he do to you?

You didn't hold that record, Henry Aaron did. As far as I know, he didn't steal anything from you, physically attack you or those close to you, or verbally attack you or those close to you. So what did he do to you?

That's fine. But why do people hate Barry Bonds? That's too personal a feeling for it to be about sports.

I didn't use that word. I said he cheated. He has no respect for the game. Aaron's record should be restored.

I don't understand it either.....don't respect the man, but then again, I think MLB is a joke and find it fitting that a supposed "cheater" has "stolen" it's most sacred record.......the league has always given tacit approval to cheating, so why is it "shocked" that it's most sacred record was, more than likely, broken by a cheater....??? xconfusedx

Yes, Bonds used steroids, as did numerous others, and there's no doubt in my mind that the owners and management knew it. Hey, McGuire and Sosa were packin' 'em in; just what the doctors ordered after the strike backlash. Money was being poured back into the owners' coffers, and they weren't gonna stop a 'harmless' drug like steroids ruin their profit spike.
Funny how skinny 'singles' guys like Lenny Dykstra and Brady Anderson all of a sudden discover their 'can of spinach', but no one noticed? That's BS and most of us realize that. These field managers aren't that dumb. From bodies like Olive Oyl to Blutos. Geez I guess they all bought the Charles Atlas body-building book.xrolleyesx
Barry Bonds doesn't have the most appealling personality in the world and has an arrogant personna, but that's still no reason to single him out.
IMO, the owners brought this whole mess on themselves out of greed. This whole 'steroid era' should have an asterisk next to it and not just have Barry Bonds singled out. Although I'm not a Bonds fan, I hope he's found innocent and the onus put where it belongs.....on the owners.

I see a lot of people blinded by faith in Barry Bonds, just like the people that were in denile of Pete Rose gambling on baseball. I liked both as players, but I don't like what they did to baseball. Hope Bonds can take reponsibility for what he as done. When they are done with Bonds, then go after McGwire, Sosa, Palmiero and whoever else cheated or lied. Baseball sold it's soul to get over the 1994 strike, now it's time to pay the piper.

People never learn. It's easier to break the law than it is to lie about it afterwards.

Bill Clinton, Martha Stewart and now perhaps Barry Bonds. It wasn't the crime that got them, it was the lies after the fact.

Bonds is not the only person they have gone after. AKA MARION JONES. Does no one here have a problem with people in the Olympics cheating either. Yes the owners let it go but this isnt just about bonds. Marion Jones is the most recent victim of the investigation. She was a four time (? 5 maybe) olympic medalist. Do you all have no problem that she cheated. She was also Using Balco just like bonds. How about Jason Giambi ( Balco) or the many other US olympians that where winning because of steroids. Do you condone that also????xmadx

I would like to say if you would like a good read go to your local book store and get the book Game Of Shadows. I have bought it but maybe you could get it at your public library. It will show you that the people in this book were implicated and are now going to grand jury or already have been convicted for steroids related offenses. Its a great read, very interesting if you are a sports fan.

BTW I have no affiliation to the book, but most of the people who seemed to lie to a grand jury are now being prosecuted.

Barry Bonds is the scapegoat for the entire MLB steriod abuse scandal. He's hardly the only one who used, but because he is an arrogant SOB, he's the one taking the fall.

A-Rod is going to break the all time HR record.

I really don't care either way, just as I don't care that the Patriots cheated. I don't get paid from any of it, so it doesn't bother me. What I don't understand is how people can become so wrapped up in ENTERTAINMENT (for the uninitiated, that's what sports are) that they take a personal hatred towards someone whom they have never met or talked to, and probably never will meet or talk to. Y'all don't know whether Bonds is a nice guy or not, you have never met the man. All you can go by is what some writer or talking head has said.

BTW- Bonds was winning before the allegations of steroids came into the picture. Remember the Pirates?
