The only competition is Youngstown State, but I beleive GSU gets the nod

GSU would get to 7 with a win over an FBS school this week.

I'd take UNH at 7-4 with an FBS win and arguably the toughest CAA conference schedule, but I'm not sure the committee will. Tough call here.

There is no " official " 7 win requirement. It is used only as a quide when selecting teams. With that being said if we lose we are out.

That is tough...I'd guess your debate is between UNH and Colgate there. Dayton, Alabama A & M and Norfolk State probably played too weak of a schedule, and Colgate would probably have to get it over Albany on the head-to-head. Hofstra played a so-so schedule for a CAA team. UNH might have the best resume out of the group, but the committee would be breaking new ground to have a team that is 4-4 in conference.

What if the same scenario as above, but Colgate loses. So you'd have:

The commitee seems to prefer 3 losses over 4 even with a somewhat weaker schedule. Therefore is likely to take someone from the MEAC/SWAC/PL/OVC with 3 over a 4 from the CAA/SoCon/BSC/Gateway/Southland.

Since the statement about 7DI wins, the committee has been more strongly adverse to a 6DI win team than to a 4 loss team.

The committee may still include the NEC with the PFL/MAAC.

That would leave two choices Colgate and Alabama A&M.

I'm torn about whether to root for GSU. I'd like to see them get the chance to play, but I think if they are out, it significantly helps our chances of a 1st round home game.

I tend to agree, especially after looking up the committee members:
Lafayette and UMass AD's represent the East on the Committee, although Ron Ratner (NEC Assoc. Commish) sits on the Eastern advisory committee.
