Dover, Del. (Mar. 3, 2023) --- Delaware State, seeded seventh in the 2023 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Tournament, will take on No. 2 North Carolina Central in the opening round of the tournament on Mar. 8 in Norfolk, Va. The tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. at the Scope Arena in downtown Norfolk. The Hornets and Eagles met twice during the 2022-23 regular season, with the NC Central coming out on top in each contest, winning 74-55 on Jan. 21 in Durham, N.C., and 66-58 on Feb. 18 in Dover, Del. This will be the sixth MEAC Tournament meeting between the Hornets and Eagles. North Carolina Central has won the last two contests to hold a 3-2 lead in tournament meetings. The Eagles won the last contest 92-75 in the 2022 tournament quarterfinals.
