WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. -- The Columbia women's lacrosse suffered its first loss of the season on Saturday afternoon, dropping a hard-fought, non-conference contest to the Monmouth Hawks in New Jersey. The Lions defense was on display, especially in the second half, but ultimately it wasn't enough as the Hawks escaped with a 12-9 victory.
