Daniel Layton proved the cliché true, capturing gold in the heptathlon with 4,831 points at Day 2 of the Colonial Athletic Association indoor track & field championship on Thursday. The senior became the first-ever CAA champ in the event, as the conference held its inaugural two-day title meet at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
