DeLand, Fla. - The Stetson softball team secured a pair of victories over Mercer and Fairfield, Saturday afternoon at Patricia Wilson Field. Sophomore Kami Eppley kicked off the first inning against Mercer with a run from junior Gianna Niemeier's single to right field. The Hatters kept it moving when junior Juls Shumacher singled to first base, allowing freshman Gia Napoli to score. Junior catcher Jordyan Stanfill electrified the crowd with her home run to left center, the first Hatter home run of the 2023 season. It wasn't long after until Kami Eppley hit her first career home run in the 4th, allowing freshman Anabella McClerren to bring it home. Late in the fifth, senior Marissa Baxter homered to left center, bringing sophomore Jaela Haynes and Gianna Niemeier home to end the game early.
