View Full Version : Montana State @ Portland State

JALMOND
November 10th, 2007, 03:53 PM
Senior Day, Veteran Appreciation Day, and Fan Appreciation Day at Portland for the game today between the Montana State Bobcats and the Portland State Vikings. PSU football is honoring the seniors in the program, and also is letting military veterans in to today's game for free.

Vikings are nursing some significant injuries today. Brian White is out for the year, having surgery on the wrist he injured against Idaho State, Olanyi Sobomohein is also out due to an injury suffered against Montana last week. Drew Hubel will be making his second home start and third start in a row.

Sidenote: Vikings received notice that OC Mouse Davis has been suspended for this game for criticizing the officiating last week in Montana, and won't be on the sidelines for this game.

The weather in Portland better than advertised. Even yesterday, the forecast was for rain, heavy at times and temps hovering around 50. Right now, 40 mins before kickoff, partly cloudy, no rain and temps near 60. Good day for football.

Caught a cold. Hard enough to get through the son's special olympics bowling today. Hopefully will last through the game, but I don't know. Drinking lots of juice.

At the end of the third it was 15-14 PSU. Defense also got a safety this game. Just ran out of gas at the end.

Do you have tickets for Cat/Griz I can have, since you don't seem to want anything to do with the Cats?

Doormat of the BSC, we just ensured our 6th winning season in a row. xcoolx

When your team loses to a team that is ranked in the bottom 5 in all of college football, then I would tend to think that something is wrong. I'm tired of putting so much emotional energy out in rooting for a team that still can't win the games that it should. Moreover, this team still can't seem to step up in the big games and make things happen. A winning season doesn't really mean much unless you are going to the playoffs. MSU fans have become complacent with beating the Griz or winning 6 or 7 games. It is time for this program to take the next step. You're damn right I'll be rooting hard for the Cats next weekend, but it just doesn't have the same meaning if the Cats can't have the BSC crown or an autobid (and almost zero chance of an at-large). Am I being overly cynical? Perhaps, but it is high team we saw this team turn the corner for good.

I agree, and winning seasons don't cut it for me either if we aren't at least in the hunt for the crown in the last two weeks. But I'm not going to proclaim MSU the worst team in the league when they are 4-3 under a first year coaching staff that only got fall drills with their players.
