14-14 at the half. Good game.
HC took the opening kickoff and drove the field. Pass and run from Randolph to Maher was the scoring play. It looked easy. HC 7, LC 0
LC mounted a 17 play drive at the end of the quarter to even things up. Big play was a botched field goal attempt from the HC 12 that holder, Mike Dipaola, picked up and ran to the 8 for a 1st down. LC 7, HC 7
LC defense made a few stands and finally blocked a punt. Tyrell Coon blocked the punt. picked up the ball and ran it in. LC 14, HC 7
After yet another defensive stop by the Pards, the HC punter got off a 73-yarder, pinning the Leopards on their own 3. They could not get out, and after the punt, HC took advantage of the short field. Randolph ran it in from the 3. LC 14, HC 14
Stats are reaonably even at the half.
Lafayette defense is holding Randolph and compayny in check, but, inexplicably, cannot get much of a running game going. HC run defense looks good. Lafayette started Tyrell Coon at tailback; the 6th different starter this year at that position.

Go Pards!! How is Curley doing?
I was out of the room for the halftime stats, but with the running game coming up a little short, he is certainly holding his own. One interception - the final "Hail Mary" play of the half.
Encouraging stat: Time of Possession (approximate): LC 17, HC 13.

Apparently Hefner got someone's attention at halftime. After fumbling and stumbling with the kickoff, and beginning on the 14, the LC offense is beginning to eat up huge chunks of yardage on the ground. Currently on about the HC 40.

Tyrell Coon scores from inside the 5. A 13 play, 86 yard drive - all rushes. The O-line is asserting itself. LC 21, HC 14
We will now see if Mr. Randolph can answer.

3 and out for the 'saders. The "D" is putting some serious pressure on Randolph.
The HC punter dropped this one at the LC one.
First play is a pass from Curley to Dorsey to the 29.

Uh oh. Coon was downfield in open space and went down without being hit. Looks serious.

November 10th, 2007, 02:26 PM
Good news - even though he did not leave the field under his own power, Coon apparently only has a severe cramp. He has 93 yards so far. Unknown if he will be back.
LC forced to punt from near midfield. HC takes over on their own 15.
LC defense continues to go after Randolph, sacking him (again) on 3rd down.
Punt puts LC on the HC 32.

3rd and 2 on the HC 24 and LC snuck a tight end down the middle out of a two tight end set. TD: Curley to Conte. LC 28, HC 14

No lead is safe with Randolph on the field. Short drops and quick throws over the onrushing defenders moves HC. A 2-yard run by Gass (?) makes it LC 28, HC 21.

HC still moving - at the LC 29.
The LC defense is really popping people. A lot of purple shirted defenders have left with injuries. most have returned, however.
LC thinks they have an INT. One of the officials says "NO." The replay says INT. The officials agree. Lafayette's ball.
