Not really an amazing "performance" but a pretty memorable play.
WR Don Beebe (Western Illinois & DII Chadron State) as a member of the Bills preventing a Cowboys fumble return TD in Super Bowl XXVII. Didn't matter to the final score...Cowboys were already up by 35 in the 4th quarter. Beebe also had 2 catches for 50 yds and 1 TD in that game.

Jerry Rice (Mississippi Valley State) may be the most memorable with 3 wins and an MVP.
We've also had an all-FCS QB matchup in the Super Bowl in January of 2000. Kurt Warner (Northern Iowa) of the Rams versus Steve McNair (Alcorn State) of the Titans.

LB Dan Bunz from Long Beach State in SB XVI, SF vs Cincinnati. SF protecting a 20-7 lead late in the 3rd qtr, Bengals ball 1st and goal from the 3yd line. 1st down - reserve OL John Choma and Bunz stop the 260 lb Pete Johnson at the 1 yd line. 2nd down - Bunz stuffs 2-time consensus All-American Charles Alexander's lead block and Johnson gets no gain. 3rd down - Bunz open field tackle drops Alexander at the 1/2 yard lineline on a swing pass to the right. 4th down - Bunz, Ronnie Lott, and left side of line stop Pete Johnson again for no gain. Ken Anderson (Division 3) was the Bengals QB, first QB to throw for 300 yards in an SB. Commentator Chris Collinsworth (1 TD) was a highly touted rookie WR.

My vote goes to former UNI Panther QB Kurt Warner. Playing for the Rams (St Louis) in Super Bowl 34 he led his team to victory over the Titans setting a new record for passing yardage and winning the Super Bowl MVP. He also won the NFL MVP for the same season. (1999?)

Joe Heag OL from NDSU lined up tackle eligible and bobbled a sure TD pass from Bucs QB Tom Brady a couple years ago. No, say it ain’t so Joe!

Yup, 1999. That whole season was surreal and looking back I should’ve appreciated it more.

The last Holy Cross alum to play in a Super Bowl was C Bruce Kozerski. He was on the Boomer Esiason-led Bengals team that reached the Super Bowl against the 49ers. We did have DB Chandler Fenner win a ring as a Seattle Seahawk in 2014 -- however he was on IR and not active.
