Dover, Del. (Jan. 30, 2023) --- Delaware State University Athletics' motto "Champions, Scholars, Citizens" was put into action recently as Hornet student-athletes participated in a series of interactive workshops centering on the topic of "Selective Silence," and how it impacts the campus community. The department joined forces with Tracy A. Jones of the Pawn Lab to candidly discuss and exchange ideas to help unpack cultures fostered in the locker room, team meetings, campus and classroom settings, in addition to competitions that lead to a positive and successful post-graduate life. Topics discussed included: unlearning absolutes; courage in leadership and enforcement; and remaining open to accountability while reimagining sport.
