View Full Version : Pats say Colts cheated

Even when the win the cry like babies. xrolleyesx
The NFL is looking into allegations that the Indianapolis Colts piped in noise during the game Sunday between the Colts and the Patriots. The charge comes after Patriots President Jonathan Kraft became the latest NFL team executive to accuse the Colts of the distracting tactic that is against the rules.
"We're aware of it and we're looking into it," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Monday. "It may just be the TV feed from CBS, but we're checking it out."
Observers at the game said there seemed to be a "skip" in the sound during the game Sunday, which the Patriots won 24-20. That might confirm the long-held suspicion among many people in the NFL that the Colts play loud crowd noise to help distract opponents when the other team is on offense.

Had the patriots been the home team in a dome and this happened, 90% of the poeple here as well as the entire media world would be calling on the NFL to make the Patriots forfeit all their games.

Stop being paranoid - we would mock them because of it, and laugh even more when the fines and draft pick losses happen, but the game would never be forfeited. And people don't hate the Pats as much as you think they do - I was rooting for them to beat the Colts. xthumbsupx

Colts didn't cheat as Pats claim.
CBS production issue created unusual sound, not enhancement, as report suggested
Sorry, conspiracy fans, there's no "Noisegate."
An unusual sound on the telecast of Sunday's game between the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots was a CBS production issue and not evidence of the Colts breaking NFL rules by enhancing noise at the RCA Dome, a network spokesman said Monday.
"It was the result of tape feedback in the CBS production truck," the network's LeslieAnne Wade said. "In no way was it from the stadium."
Yahoo Sports reported that Patriots president Jonathan Kraft complained about the noise issue after the game to Milt Ahlerich, the NFL vice president of security.
There were at least three posts on YouTube.com from the CBS telecast pointing to the first play of the fourth quarter as possible evidence.
The play, in which Patriots quarterback Tom Brady completes a 14-yard slant to Randy Moss, has a vibrating sound amid the crowd noise that stops abruptly after the tackle. One post characterized the sound as being like a CD skipping or "stuck."
Illegitimate noise at Dome? Hardly (http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071106/SPORTS03/711060442/1058/SPORTS03)

You can't play music or have any announcements while a play is being run. In college they stop the band from playing when the huddle is broken. The crowd is the only thing that can interfere with the signal calling.

I wondered what the deal was with the scratched-CD-sounding crowd on Sunday. I thought maybe it was just my TV. I looked at my wife and said "did you hear that?"
So was the noise a TV-only thing or was the sound actually heard in the Dome?

I had a feeling that Colts fas were too dumb to remain silent while the Colts had the ball then cheer loud when they were on defense.......I mean this is Indiana we are talking about.
Seriously though, the difference in crowd noise was very noticeable.

All I know is that there was dead silence at the end of the game even though every slack-jawed Indiana yokel in the Inferior Audio Products Dome had their mouth open.
Every player was doing the Peytie Pout. Even St. Dungy looked shellshocked. Priceless.

Ancient history. The Colts lost the latest battle even at home and with the idiot refs making bogus calls.
I hope the Colts ARE in Foxborough in January for the AFCCG and it's 15 degrees out and snowing and the refs haven't been harangued by Polian before the game. Then I get to see the Peytie Pout and the St. Dungy "I just got outcoached" scowl.

Good lord...did you even watch the game! Bogus calls...The Pats have gotten away with "illegal touching"...pass interference for FAR FAR FAR too long...they actually deserved a couple more flags! and as far as Dungy being outcoached...PLEASExrolleyesx The Colts dominated that game until Peyton choked in the last few minutes.xnodx BTW... I think a rematch would result in another very close game. The Patriots were not "lucky" by winning, that is bogus. xmadx They just started playing. Right from the start you could see how pumped up the Colts players were. They wanted to inflict pain on the Patriots. The Pats on the other hand, looked like it was any other game and did not seem excited at all, more like overwhelmed. xnonono2x Finally in the 4th quarter, they started playing some Patriots football.
The Patriots will study that game a lottttttt and I don't think they will make the same mistakes they did in the first game. I predict another Patriots victory, but it won't be an easy one. Oh and for whoever said there were not bogus calls against the Patriots... you are craaaazy, xeekx there were at least 2 that really messed us up that should have been called on the Colts. Oh well, game is over... onto the rest of the season.

Dominated? The two long bogus PI calls resulted in points that otherwise maybe they dont get. That Addai run in the 1st half after the catch, that was nice, and the guy is very talented, but there was also a lot of luck in that run.
The Colts didnt dominate anything.

Okay...maybe not dominating... but with a 10 pt. lead and 8 mins to go...I'd say they were in control. My ex-gf (Patriots fanxmadx ) jinxed my Colts...That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Not just the bogus calls that were made (how does Ellis Hobbs get flagged when he has the inside position and an unimpeded path to the ball?) but the calls that were not made (like the Indy LB pulling Kevin Faulk's arm down about 3 seconds before the ball reached him).
As for Addai, yeah, great first half, but what did he do in the second half? NOTHING!!! When the game was on the line he disappeared. CHOKE!!!
What did Peytie do in the 4th quarter? Turned the ball over. CHOKE!!!
What did Randy Moss, Donte Stallworth and Tom Brady do? Made the biggest plays of the day.
Sorry, you can't dominate a game you don't win.

They maybe among the two best ends in the NFL but there not 1 and 2.
The Patriots incidently also have 2 of the best ends in the NFL, they do have trouble getting to Manning, why? Because the Colts have a decent line as well led by the best center in football Mr. Saturday, also like Brady, Manning can make very quick decisions and get the ball to his receivers in time.

Light's leg whip was a legit penalty. But listening to the national media after the game, there was almost unanimous opinion that the officiating was heavily tilted to the Colts benefit. But who cares. Pats won, Colts lost. See you in Jan. for the AFCCG.
