Coach was worried about this game going in, and obviously that has come to fruition.

Glad SDSU isnt in the SLC because they own it right now. Good little group that made the trip down from SD to root on their Rabbits. Hopefully they have a safe trip home and had a good visit to Arkansas.

There's little doubt that the Southland, which I thought was going to be up this year after early performances like Texas State's win over Cal Poly and SFA's competetive effort against North Dakota State, is very down as a league.

Yep. And SDSU is now 3-0 vs. the Southland with no Southland team coming closer than 28 points to them while being 2-4 against everybody else with the two wins being by 7 and 13.

Don't get me wrong, SDSU has played a pretty tough schedule and is a solid FCS team. But there's no question that Southland teams have constituted the "easy" part of their slate.

I saw both our games against SDSU and I have seen everyone in the SLC over the past two years except McNeese (will see them in two weeks).

While I believe our skill players (UCA's) are as good or maybe even a little better than SDSU (different system of course so different skills somewhat), there is no doubt that "up front" they are significantly bigger and stronger without losing athleticism. Their defensive front seven are way better than ours, simple as that. We have to get bigger and stronger without losing quickness. Two ways to do that (1) off season can achieve some of this as our players are very young and have some room to grow bigger and stronger and (2) recruit!!!!!

I loved playing SDSU because it gives us a measuring stick as to where we need to be to compete against the Gateway type teams and they have very classy fans.
