Dover, Del. Dec. 29, 2022) --- Delaware State's Alecia Shields-Gadson is featured in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) spotlight on the five female directors of athletics among the conference's eight schools. Shields-Gadson was appointed by Delaware State President Dr. Tony Allen as the University's Director of Intercollegiate Athletics in August 2021. She previously served in the post in an interim capacity. Shields-Gadson was appointed to a four-year term as a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Council on June 1, 2022. As a member of the NCAA leadership post, she has an important voice in advancing the association's mission, traditions, values and reputation, in addition to serving as an advocate for the organization.
