It's worth keeping in mind that a lot of the potentially 8-3 teams around the country have D-II's on their schedules; JMU doesn't. The simple difference between eight D-I wins and seven will be at least one major factor in your favor.

You will definitely want to root for UMass against UNH next week--UNH will be knocked out with one more loss, but if they finish with the same record as you guys, they'll almost certainly be in line ahead of you for an at-large. (Granted, if UMass loses that game, we'll be in precarious position, too. I'm not sure who the committee would choose between an 8-3 JMU and an 8-3 UMass if it came down to that.)

UMass doesn't have UD or Richmond on the schedule this year, so the tiebreaker would have to come into effect if UMass finishes tied with either of those teams. For UMass to finish with only one loss, we'd have to beat UNH, and UNH beat Delaware, so I think that would give UMass the tiebreaker against Delaware by virtue of a better record against common opponents. As for Richmond, they lost to Towson, whom UMass beat, and doesn't have URI, who is UMass's only loss; so I think UMass would get the tiebreaker over Richmond, too . . . but I'm not certain of that, so someone please correct me if I'm wrong . . .

Just back to the beach from the game. I was nervous all second half, knew this was going to be a close game. Mrs89 asked me on the way up what the spread was and I told her they don't do I-AA games but I'd have to guess it would be UD by 3 for the home field advantage.

JMU should be proud of the contingent they sent. Easily one of the biggest and most vocal visiting crowds I've seen at the Tub in a while. HOWEVER, they are lame with the cheers.
