The only more prolific team against bad defenses would have been the Briscoe led Bearkats back in the day. Neither of these teams will win it all because you have to be balanced on offense and play defense. Both. Sammy suffered from this for years.

The Cardinals will have to play their cleanest game of the season if they want to knock off Sac State on Friday night. If they can do that, then I believe they will be able to get the upset.

If you think it's a score fest on BOTH sides take the underdog (and tight game in the end like UIW Furman last week)... Hell of a game but man, coach Taylor really shot himself in the foot by not using timeouts. If I was Entz, I'd be nervous knowing how Scott can throw and run like a bat out of hell and make plays happen out of nowhere.

DeweyDid you see the game Roehl called in the 1st half? NDSU were lucky Samford's vaunted offense (hint of sarcasm here) decided to take the game off since NDSUs offense didnt show up until the 3rd quarter and that wont fly against UIW

As exciting as it may have been, neither of these schools would have or will stand a chance with their sorely lacking defenses. Offenses are apparently real good, but hard to tell with such porous defenses. Even good offenses might look outstanding if they have are sub-par defenses to face. Richmond and Furman held these team to about 3-4 scores less. Pretty sure UIW is done unless they somehow create a D in a week. If all they have is their O, they will need to catch some breaks to have any hope.

they are clearly a very good team! but they were lucky to have the season they have had. their much touted fbs win came against a garbage team and it clearly takes more than a little good fortune to lose the season TO battle and be undefeated.

UIW will not get 4 TO from the bison- they wont get one! the bison will pick off at least one of the MANY jump balls that UIW throws and they will probably score every time they have the ball. UIW is a really good football team but they will not get the help from the bison that they have gotten from every other team they have played this year. the bison DO NOT beat themselves, especially in the playoffs, at home, against a team with literally ZERO defense

It began at LSU in 2016 where he redshirted, then he went to East Mississippi Community College (of Last Chance U fame) in 2017 leading them to a JUCO national championship, then he went to Missouri in 2018 where he didn't play in any games, then he went to Nicholls in 2019 - he sat out 2019 due to the old transfer rules and then started for them in the spring and fall 2021 seasons, and finally transferred to UIW prior to this season.

I assume he was able to apply for a medical redshirt due to not appearing in any games during the 2016, 2018, and 2019 seasons and then the COVID year didn't coun so that's how he got to 7 years. Now he's most likely going to be the Walter Payton Award winner in his 7th season of college football.... quite the story for the young man.

I don't know why Sac didn't just onside kick it every time, after a certain point. UIW scores faster, so you leave yourself more time, and if you can get 2 onside kicks, why not more?

I think onside-ing it with, say, 3:00 left on the clock probably would've been the right call. UIW had mainly been killing Sac on the ground, though, so with <2:00 left they probably thought the Cardinals would be a little more one dimensional.

Sac's defense did give themselves a chance to end it, but one of their DBs dropped an INT.
