There was a showdown last Saturday in D2 between #8 Tarleton State and #21 Abilene Christian University. Tarleton State (8-0, 3-0), played against Conference Rival Abilene Christian (7-1, 3-1). In what would be deemed a West Texas Shootout. The final score to the game was 70-63 in favor of Abilene Christian. There were 19 Touchdowns scored on Saturday and the two teams combined for 1,317 of total yards.

Prior to this weekend Tarleton gave up-
7 points,24 (against FCS' Stephen F Austin), 17, 7, 19, 21, 32, 10 points.

ACU-
27, 27 (against FCS Texas State State), 3, 14, 20, 7, 28, and 41 points

My question is this-

What do you tell your Defense / Defensive Coordinators after a game like this?

Why look at a D-II game with only 133 points scored, when a D-I game with 141 points scored was played on the same day? xconfusedx

Weber State 73, Portland State 68
NCAA all-division record for most points in a game. xcoolx

I know, I saw that score shortly after our game finished. My question still stands though

What do you tell your DC / How does the DC from Weber or Portland explain something like this?

Defensive Coordinator to his defensive players "Um....you guys suck."

Head coach to his Defensive Coordinator "Um...you suck. You're fired."

Or something to that effect...
