Thats the way our games with Idaho State and Montana State are. Everyone is so busy trying to put a huge hit on each other, they don't settle down and play "clean" football until after the half.

Fun to watch, but the penalties and missed assignments kill ya.

Our option offense has gotten out of control. It's gotten to the point that defenses are stacking 8-9 in the box to stop the option run everytime and Caoch Matthews isn't adjusting at all. Thank God he let Landers pass for that TD or else we'd be in bigger trouble going into the 2nd than we already are.

You know, I used to be bothered by the offensive style of the Dukes. Then I realized that no matter how many people the other team puts in the box, JMU manages to usually win. The big boys up front almost always get the job done for JMU. Landers will throw more in the second half but JMU is definitely going to run the ball. A lot.

Its not so much a rivalry, as much as it is a physical game. Idaho State plays right up to the whistle. Some think they are being cheap, but if the whistle hasn't blown...

Just got back. Had a great time. JMU fans were very kind despite the ibvious disappointment. Of course, what happened to their fans, there could not have been more than 11,000 people there?

Both teams looked pretty bad on offense, but I would say that the defenses just played that well. I think UR's painfully young defense is starting to gel. They could be a darn good unit when they mature.
