What are some of the oldest pieces of football memorabilia you have from your school?

I have a 1909 postcard that shows the football field and a 1924 football pocket schedule.

I have a game helmet signed by every coach and player from our first season.

Granted it is only 5 years old but it is kinda cool.

I've bought a few items on eBay over the years. I have a Harvard-Princeton FB program from the '30s, some old newspaper articles, several old Harvard-Yale programs, an old beret with a crimson "H" on it, and an old (1920?) doll in a Harvard football uniform. But I'm not obsessive about it!

NICE! We went 10-1 that year. Only losing to Maine, and well, you guys in the playoffs, 17-24. I just looked up the schedule, funny how we are still playing the same teams. Delaware, Del State, Morgan State, JMU, Liberty,

Um, I just bought a game-worn jersey from ~'03 off eBay. That's it, not very old.

I also bought a Marcus Camby jersey... but that doesn't count.

Old Dominion University is (re)starting football after 67 years. (From 1930-40 they were the Norfolk Division of William and Mary.) The War Years in Norfolk had a huge impact on the school and they disbanded the sport. :(

I have 11 programs and 10+ original wire photos from those years.

Chattanooga printed yearbooks from 1915-1989...I have 66 of them (only missing 1915-1917 and a couple from the 1930's)

I am the unofficial historian for the alumni affairs office and the SID...some of the best photos of athletics are from the old yearbooks (back in the day, the yearbook had a write-up of every player...of course, back then a team might only have 30 players)

I am currently putting together a CDR of the history of Mocs football...what can I say, I minored in history. :)

I love the history of some of these teams. In 1902 Stonybrook was probably still a British outpost filled with Redcoats that didnt get the message to go home xlolx xlolx

That's really cool.

I've been able to do the same with media guides, though granted we haven't been producing those since 1915 :)

I have all the media guides since GSU restarted football in 1981. The first couple of years ... 1981-1984 they are very scarce and hard to find. Took me a while to put my collection together ... and I'm close to having a duplicate set.

Next project is to work on building a online photo archive. I have photos I've done myself since 1999, but will have to search out other sources for the other years.

Old yearbooks can have some really good stuff. Some schools used to have write-ups and photos from each game of the season in theirs. The library stacks at Minnesota had a whole section of yearbooks from various schools going back over 100 years. I spent hours and hours in that goldmine looking at all the historical photos.

I've thought about getting the yearbooks. I have several from the 1930's, and have seen some from the teens, but just can't decide whether to take the next step and buy them. xoopsx
