I could see us losing this game too. If we're going to lose this year this is the game I guess I want it to happen. To a team that is rolling at their place with a few games to rebound with before the playoffs. Realistically, I bet we win this game as our D will step up somehow and we will lose to PSU or ISU.
If we win is this considered a good win since so many people are picking us to lose?

Don't know if it's an upset at this point, but the Furmies are going to run the Boonies out of the playoffs this weekend. ASU has no defense and what I've read says two of their starters on the D-line won't play. Their O-line is also wrecked by injuries. This one ain't even going to be close. The defending champs go down with a whimper.

And Griz fans, you seem to have taken the NAU prediction personally. So the solution is simple: go out and beat NAU, and then the smack will cease to be. Until then, quit yer yammering about it. You guys have become so easy to get to it isn't even funny anymore.

I think the most realistic upsets are Del State falling to SC State, Villanova over Hofstra, Central Arkansas over Nicholls State, and, sorry Griz fans, Northern Arizona over Montana.

I think the first one happens and the last one.

The last time the Griz had a must win or else in conference was back in 2003. Same team, NAU on the road. People back then were talking up NAU a lot back then as well, predicting an NAU victory. The Griz fans knew it; the coaches knew it; the team knew it as well. Final score: Griz 59 - 21 over NAU. Times don't change.

I won't take it personal, I think a loss is very possible..and it would be a upset given the history, but to predict a lopsided blowout is simply idiotic..put yer money where your hairball is, that's all I got to say.

Sounds like a fair bet to me....but all I hear is silence from Mr. Wapiti. This is the Big Sky, anyone can beat anyone in this conference (except N. Colorado that is, see Commissioners office for that little gem...Nice kids, no chance of competing)

srgrizizen
October 26th, 2007, 02:25 PM
If we're predicting "upsets", then I'll say UM 24 NAU 17. This board has clearly established that the GRIZ have not beaten anybody above the Pop Warner level and most likely suck. So if they can steal a road win from one of the few BSC teams that almost aspires to mediocrity, it must be an upset. Seriously, how many of you think NAU will win, but DON'T think that's an upset?- xsmiley_wix xsmiley_wix

I am not a betting man. I've lost too many bets.

I predicted a blowout because the griz offense has not done much, except against its weak SOS, which they should have, and NAU offense has been lighting it up.

For the general sentiment would be that, if NAU wins, then UM would more than likely be out of the Top Ten and if they did recover enough to get to the FCS Play-offs then they'd have to go on the road.

Sorry about overlooking the fact this was a thread for the predition of upsets of other than one's fav:

Delaware - 34 - 28 Navy
Citadel - 17 - 14 Georgia Southern
Richmond - 38 - 28 James Madison
Youngstown St 42 - 31 Northern Iowa
...and, quite of course, Northern Colorado - 21 - 20 "I Twat I Twa A Puddy Tat" (you said upsets, right?) Besides which, it took over eight years for the Sacramento St. women's basketball team to record their first BSC road win; guess against who, the 'Puddy Tats!!!' Lightning strikes twice!!!).

Gotta love them Big Sky Games....way to go Northern Colorado. Let me say this, my family and I stayed in the same hotel as the Northern Kids last Friday night prior to the Griz game in Missoula, and they were a very respectful, confident, nice group of kids. You felt bad for the Griz beating them the way they did, because they were such a good group of kids on the field as well!

I am so happy for them, that is what college football is all about, and why they schedule AND play the games. Poor Bobcats.
