The Northeast Conference's two undefeated teams remained perfect in conference play after Week 9 action. In the ESPN3 Game of the Week, Saint Francis U moved to 5-0 after posting a convincing win at NEC preseason favorite Sacred Heart, and in the process, clinched the conference's AQ to the FCS Playoffs. Visiting Merrimack shut down Stonehill for more than 40 minutes to improve to 5-0 in the league with a come-from-behind victory. Central Connecticut and LIU scored its first victories of the season, defeating Wagner and Duquesne, respectively.
