IMO - NDSU has had one of the greatest runs in D1 football history. Bison fans have grown spoiled - they are used to dominating every team, every game. The Bison of 2022 are good -very good - but not dominating like a lot of the previous years are. I personally feel the level of dominance the Bison has had is unsustainable and bound to come back to earth some eventually. The same thing happened with UCLA in basketball, it happened to UCF in FB, and it will happen with 'Bama in FB. I'm not saying the Bison (or any of those teams) are or will be bad, but just that they are just a top tier team and not in a tier by themselves.

We are still suffering from the visitor side issue. There is philosophical debate going on between those think it's better to have a smaller but full stadium or a bigger and sometimes empty one. Pros and cons to both. We had a decent 21k+ seat one. Now we are limited to a 10-11k seat one with only a home side. One of the best ones to be sure, but still only a partial one. I just wish we had a huge donor that would settle it and break ground. Build it and they will come.

We have an upcoming tilt on a Friday night going head-to-head w/ valued texas HS football. I'm fairly certain we will lose the popularity contest to the cajillion HSs in and around greater htown, not to mention a forecast of strong storms on Friday.

ESPN $$$ spoke to us moving the game. :(

IMO - NDSU has had one of the greatest runs in D1 football history. Bison fans have grown spoiled - they are used to dominating every team, every game. The Bison of 2022 are good -very good - but not dominating like a lot of the previous years are. I personally feel the level of dominance the Bison has had is unsustainable and bound to come back to earth some eventually. I'm not saying the Bison (or any of those teams) are or will be bad, but just that they are just a top tier team and not in a tier by themselves.We have lost fans for multiple years, it started 5 years ago, this isn't a recent deal. Lot of alcoholics up here, you get 10,000 to 15,000 fans tailgating for 5 hours, go into the game, and say Meh, lets go to Labby's or something and watch TV. Started serving beer this year to maybe stem the out flow, isn't working, people are just bored or have no attention span or RESPECT for the team and the people that play the game.

It is too bad they dont have the TV cameras on the other side of the field because the optics at these games is REALLY bad.

Chattanooga has that problem too - the "visitors side" is nearly empty, so even when the "home side" is full the TV cameras make the stands look empty. I noticed the same thing at the Mocs game at Furman this week - they had a decent homecoming crowd but since the cameras face the visitors stands, it looked like nobody was there.

JSU did it right when they renovated their stadium a few years ago, and put the TV Booth on the visitors side looking to the impressive home side.

POD is right. I remember a playoff game a few years ago against Colgate where NDSU had pretty decent size empty sections. The fair westher fans will be there for the semifinals (if NDSU makes it) and then Frisco (again if NDSU makes it).

Princeton-Dartmouth football was a good rivalry game way back in the day....talking 1960s....Ivy title was often on the line when they played each other the last weekend of the season. Too bad they have gotten away from that with closer regional games ovah the last couple decades or so.

DeweyNDSU lost a fair number of fans to that college hockey debacle that UND had in Vegas this weekend. Not kidding, I know of at least 10 people personally that go to NDSU football games and are UND fans for all other sports and they went to Vegas. Freaking joke.

This is a farming area and harvest is going balls to the wall and I get why people can't make it to games but to come to the game and leave at halftime with a one possession lead is mind boggling to me. The student section was practically empty after it got to 17-7

In those days the Princeton-Dartmouth game was not always the last game. Princeton would play Dartmouth as their last game one year then Cornell as their last game the following year. Penn was the other team involved. The idea was to have the two most southern Ivy teams host the two most northern the last weekend of the season. So you would have the strange situation of Princeton playing Dartmouth as their last game one year and then playing them as their first Ivy game the following year.

Not sure how long that strange bit of scheduling lasted, but it started sometime in the sixties.
