My gut says we have a 50/50 chance of making it competitive because our offense is slowing figuring out a pass game and our defense is also coming along nicely.

As for winning, I put it at 10/90 maybe 20/80 ... you guys had a week off, and had a chance to scout our last few weeks to see what were starting to do well.

FYI, we destroyed ISUb the first half (20-4 1st downs, 280 to 88 total yards), but kicking game imploded completely ... so then Spack went all conservative 2nd half. After 28 passes first half passes for 248 yards we didn't pass once on first drive of 2nd half ... then botched our 3rd easy FG .. another 30 yarder.

So the good news playing NDSU is Spack won't half to go conservative, and your run defense is not it's usual standard.

All that said ... maybe a 20/80 chance of winning.

I don't think the talent is average (it is well above average). I do think the experience at some D positions and below average execution at times have been real killers. This NDSU could (should?) be undefeated right now, but they could realistically also have 4 losses at this point. Just not the consistency or culture we fans/alumni have been accustomed to seeing. That said, I really have no clue how this game will go.

maybe so, but you have much higher expectations ... so "pretty average" is kind of relative. I do notice your run defense is very middle of the road, while your pass defense is quite good.

Our only chance is if we get our run game and pass game going. And our defense continues to develop. We didn't have stud LB Zeke Vandenburg last week .. rumor is, Vandenburg was banged up the last 2 games, so Spack was saving him for you guys.

edit: meant to add, your run offense and scoring offense also lead the league, While your QB doesn't throw much (half of ours !), I think he leads in QBR. Not so sure "pretty average" is fair assessment, other than your run defense ... maybe special teams ?
