Notes: NSU is currently tied with Delaware State University for first place in the MEAC standings…the Spartans currently boast a 4-0 MEAC record, their best school start and best MEAC record since joining the conference in 1997…last week the Spartans defeated Hampton, 20- 19…a win against the Rattlers will guarantee the Spartans their first winning season since moving up to Division I and would be the first time the school history the team will have defeated FAMU…the Spartans lead the MEAC in field goals percentage…the Spartans finished 8th in the 2006 MEAC standings with a 1-7 MEAC record, 4-7 overall…the Spartans lost 12 starters from last year’s squad…NSU is predicted to finish 7th in the MEAC in 2007…FAMU dropped their third MEAC conference game of the season with a 49-14 loss to SCSU…the Rattlers have not played a home game since Sept. 15 and have only played at home twice this season…the Rattlers have been outscored by an average of seven points this season…the Rattlers lead the MEAC in punt returns…the Rattlers have one conference win in the 2007 season with a win over Howard…FAMU finished fourth last year with a 5-3 MEAC record, 7-4 overall…the Rattlers earned four slots on the 2007 preseason All-MEAC team.
