This week's top 25 article: http://thefcswedge.com/ags-poll/ags-poll-week-3-top-25-results-4/

Pretty boring week overall. Missouri St once again recorded their highest ever finish in the AGS Poll (first appearance in the top 5 ever) at #4. I'm gonna guess this is the first time in a long time that the MVFC wasn't amongst the top 2 in terms of conferences with the most top 25 teams (Big Sky and CAA both have more). Personally, I think SIU and SEMO are a bit underrated in the consensus.

Y’all know you put Rhode Island at #23, don’t you…or is that a typo?

2 so-so wins over Teams that are winless (combined 0-5) and then suffering a complete dismantling, curb-stomping at home. Nothing screams “Top 20-ish resume” more than those results, huh?

Oregon State has the potential to be a 9 win team this year. Montana State struggles against the Beavers is more of a reflection of how good OSU is, not the Bobcats being "less good". I did not knock EWU for getting run out of Eugene either.....

The Pac 12 actually looks pretty good at the top. USC, Washington, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington State and Utah all seem nationally viable. Only Colorado and Arizona State seem dreadful. The fall of the Buffaloes honestly makes me a bit sad. They were so much fun to watch when I was a kid!

A team with no rbs ,that is running an offense with two wildcat QBs that throw 40/60 balls not even 50/50 should not be top 10. Now when Ifanse gets back and they develop a forward pass I think they can crawl back in.

They've scored 40, 63 and 28 in their first 3 games. Everyone has a different threshold for offensive competence.

Montana State heads to Eastern Washington this weekend. There will be some market adjustment upon its conclusion. Until then, I still believe the Bobcats are among the elite in FCS. Even a close loss won't change that general perception. Granted, seeding/home games do become a concern.....

How good is Montana State? At this point, I don't think we know. They blasted two horrible teams at home. Now, however, injuries are starting to mount up. I guess we will find out soon.
This is not a knock on MSU. This is a really difficult season in FBS and FCS with all the fifth and sixth year players, transfers galore from the portal, new coaches....As the season goes on, things should be more clear, and, as always, it will be settled on the field.

I actually think the limited exposure the CAA gets on FloSports is the cause of a lot of misconceptions about some CAA teams... Of course this would only be true if I was right .... but I may be wrong

No that's probably right. The only CAA games I watch are the early OOC ones on ESPN+. Then it's just look at box scores.

This is true. It is really hard to explain how bad Flo is, I understand why JMU was dying to leave the conference.

I’m not sure what the exact details of the flo deal were, but i’m sure the presidents just wanted a cheap option instead of going on ESPN. I think the deal expires either this upcoming summer or in the summer of 2024, though.

Let it be known that this KSU fan agrees with AGS. Two things that I don't believe in: any one gives a crap about what I'm saying, and that Samford is as good as we need them to be to remain relevant. Without a significant win against Wofford and JSU, both of which are winless against the Owls (I'm enjoying it while it last, 0-3 JSU), it sadly looks like the KSU experiment is leveling out to average at best. I hope only the best for my alma mater, but we have significant changes to make if we have any intention of remaining relevant. God speed, Owls.

I posted this Aug. 8th in the Thread: STATS FCS PRE-SEASON TOP 25 (https://www.anygivensaturday.com/showthread.php?308606-STATS-FCS-PRE-SEASON-TOP-25)

I look for these teams to do pretty damn good this season.

Missouri State (8-4, 6-2 Missouri Valley)
Stephen F. Austin (8-4, 4-2 ASUN-WAC)
UIW (10-3, 7-1 Southland)
Holy Cross (10-3, 6-0 Patriot)
Eastern Kentucky (7-4, 4-2 ASUN-WAC)
