Josh Johnson has recently accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine game on January 18th. Any word on other FCS players going to an All-Star game?

(San Diego, CA) - Senior QB Josh Johnson (Oakland, CA; Oakland Tech HS) has accepted an invitation to play in the 2008 East-West Shrine game on January 18th. The college all-star game that features seniors from across the country, will be played at the University of Houston's John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium in Houston, Texas.
"We are excited that our senior quarterback Josh Johnson will be given the opportunity to play in the East-West Shrine game," said USD head coach Ron Caragher. "Playing in a post-season all-star game of this magnitude will give him an additional opportunity to showcase his many talents and skills."
Johnson, a Payton Watch candidate for the second straight year, currently leads all FCS players in total offense (398.6 yards), passing efficiency (222.1 rating) and points responsible for (28.8 points per game). This season he has completed 107-143 passes (74.8%) for 1,603 yards, 23 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. He is now 27-2 as a starter dating back to the beginning of the 2005 campaign. He has been named the PFL offensive player of the week three times this season, and following his performance in the team's 49-13 win over Northern Colorado, was tabbed a national player of the week by The Sports Network and College Sporting News.
