South Dakota is tough to gauge. They're 0-2 but they've played at K-State and at Montana... I'd say most teams in the top 25 would be 0-2 with those games and it's not like USD was completely embarrassed in either of them.

That said after their cupcake this week vs Cal Poly they host NDSU and then go to Brookings to face SDSU so they're probably about to get buried by their brutal early season schedule anyway.

I mentioned that in another thread EWU still getting historic respect even though they haven't proved much yet this year. We will know in a couple weeks. Most are probably giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Has to be the reason, but... why? They had a terrible defense last year, but the offense bailed them out. They lost some major offensive production. Until they prove that the defense is better, or at least that the offense is on par with the last several years, I have them at 6th in the Big Sky, and possibly even 7th behind Idaho.

Just to forestall any potential argument, I don't think UNH should be ranked at this early point of the season after two wins. I'm sure the CAA will be happy to report another ranked team this week however.

But ranking UNH 25th is certainly not any more unreasonable than keeping Kennesaw and SFA in the top 25, or having EWU at 14.

They look and are pretty good in my estimation. Big on the lines of course and their secondary is top notch. They are gonna win a fair amount of games I think.

I would say they should be loitering somewhere outside of the top 25 until they beat a good team

I’m not going to say we don’t deserve any votes but I don’t see us being a Top 25 team this season. We have Alabama A&M next week then EKU followed by UCA. Not exactly a cakewalk in ASUN play is what I’d call us this year. We are back on the rise at the right time though. I’m hoping for a 2-0 start in conference but we’ll see what happens.
