Stony Brook @ UMass -- UMass has been outscored 97-20 in their first two games by Tulane and Toledo. Stony Brook doesn't look great this year, but given they've had two weeks to prepare for this one and UMass looks to be one of the worst teams in the FBS, I'll take the 'Wolves.
Richmond @ Lehigh -- The Engineers in a shocker. Richmond led St. Francis 24-21 midway through the 4th last week. Just have a strange feeling Lehigh, in their home-opener, finds a way to get a win here. I saw enough good things from their offense against Nova and Georgetown to make me believe they can move the ball against Richmond.
Villanova @ Army -- Not a good time to be playing a pissed off Army team at Michie.
Towson @ West Virginia -- You can't narrowly beat Bucknell and then expect to be competitive against WVU.
UAlbany @ Fordham -- Albany will score, but can they outscore Fordham?
Delaware @ URI -- Game of the week. Give me the home team.
Georgetown @ Monmouth -- Think this will be an ugly score.
Hampton @ Norfolk State -- No feel on this game. Pirates, I guess.
W&M @ Lafayette -- If Lafayette had any seldom of an offense, I'd think about picking them.
NC Central @ UNH -- Have to win this one after scoring two nice conference wins to kick off the season.
Gardner-Webb @ Elon -- Gardner in a slight upset. If you're going to go on the road an nearly beat Coastal, who's to say they won't beat Elon?
Maine @ Boston College -- A better Maine team might be able to give BC a good run this year.

Game of the week is UD at URI. The Rams seem in my memory to have a habit of toppling the Hens early in the season recently. This year I just think UD turns the tables. Either way, the winner will be a front runner in the CAA with UNH.

Also tempted to pick Lehigh in an upset over Richmond but I think the talent gap is just too much.

I like the fact that a few posters either believe Lehigh will beat Richmond or have the capacity to beat Richmond. The Mountain Hawks were out gained last week by Georgetown by over 100 yards and were "out first downed" 29-15. It took Georgetown making numerous mistakes/committing several coaching blunders to escape with the win. It was a battle of two bad, poorly coached teams. With that said, I believe Richmond has an average at best coach currently in Huesman so they've had their own issues the last few years.

As it is, I can't see Lehigh staying within 2 TDs of the Spiders. They simply make way too many fundamental mistakes/give up too many big plays on defense to seriously compete for 60 minutes imo.

UMass 31 SBU 20 - This is UMass's golden opportunity to get their lone win (well, they play Temple next...)! SBU has looked pretty bad bad to start 2022 so I believe the Minutemen put in a full 60 to make it happen...

Richmond 38 Lehigh 21 - The Mountain Hawks are marginally better than last year which is still pretty bad. I'm not a Huesman fan so if this is closer I won't be shocked. Ultimately, I think UR pull away late after a generally competitive game

Army 38 Villanova 27 - Army has played a pretty tough schedule and competed well while 'Nova has feasted on FCS cupcakes. The Black Knights take care of business on banks of the Hudson....

WVU 52 Towson 27 - WVU desperately needs a win after losing to Pitt and (a sneaky good) Kansas team.

Fordham 42 Albany 27 - The Rams have playoff potential of they keep their focus. They should be able to survive the Danes in the "friendly" confines of the Bronx...

Delaware 34 URI 20 - The Hens are emerging as a high seed candidate in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic. URI just needs to claw to 7/8 wins to end their playoff drought.

Monmouth 56 Georgetown 31 - The Hoyas have some capable individual talent but overall will be outmatched by an angry 0-2 Monmouth team.

Hampton 24 Norfolk State 13 - NSU seems to really be struggling?

W&M 24 Lafayette 10 - Lafayette's defense is excellent but their lack of offense will prevent them from pulling off the upset like last week against Temple. Have the 'Pards fixed the punt protection?

UNH 41 NC Central 17 - The Wildcats seem to be on the comeback. Could be a sleeper seed...

Boston College 38 Maine 13 - What has happened to the Black Bears this year? BC stinks but they'll still roll....

Unfortunately I don't think 7 wins is enough to end our playoff drought with our schedule, it wasn't last year. Let's say Rhody loses tomorrow, next week at Pitt, then wins 10/1 against Brown. That leaves us at 3-2 with wins against Stony Brook, Bryant, and Brown. Would ending the season 4-2 against Elon, at Monmouth, at William & Mary, Maine, at New Hampshire, and Albany be enough? I'm guessing no. I think we need to win either tomorrow or pull of the miracle next week to give us a chance at getting into the playoffs with 7 wins and even still it would probably be squeeky bum time on Selection Sunday. I'm thinking eight is the magic number.
