The University at Albany women's soccer team fought hard against UMass in the season opener, but eventually fell to the Minutewomen 1-0. Both teams came out heavy on offense to start the game before the defenses slowed things down in the second half. A penalty kick in the first half for UMass was the deciding factor in the loss.
