Villanova QB is out for the year with an ACL.. a true Fr is now the only scholarship QB on the roster..
Villanova quarterback Antwon Young's season is over, the school announced yesterday. Tests this week showed that the sophomore, the focal point of 'Nova's offense this season, suffered a torn left anterior cruciate ligament in Saturday's William and Mary game.

That is rough. He looked good vs. Lehigh and was performing well this season.

A shame. I was impressed with him when I saw him play. Better than his predecessor who was ballyhooed. I think he was a redshirt, so not sure how many seasons he has left.

Not sure about your commentary on Young's predecessor, Marvin Burroughs was a pretty solid quarterback.
Young is a redshirt sophomore...he has 2 seasons of eligibility after this year. This loss is pretty devastating - if you saw the W&M game, its become clear that when Young is on, he is unstoppable. The combination of his cannon and speed made him the best CAA QB not named Santos.
We're bringing in a true freshman Chris Whitney - very highly regarded out of a high school - was recruited by a bunch of FBS teams to play safety but decided to stay in the Philly area as a QB. Certainly a top FCS prospect.
UMass is going to bring a heavy blitz, hope Whitney is ready.

Young is good, but with all due respect W&M's defense could make a lot of QBs look good. And he was the best CAA qb not named Santos? You've got to be kidding...xlolx xlolx xlolx.I was at the JMU-Nova game, and it was obvious who the better qb was- Landers. Young in the CAA is 4th in Qb rating, 6th in passing and 6th in total yardage. He's put up decent numbers, but the CAA is loaded with QB talent. I don't think too many people in the league would pick him over not only Santos, but also Landers, Flacco, Coen, Schaeffer, and maybe Phillips. Young may be one of the best in the league next year, but not this year- he's middle of the pack in a league loaded with good qbs.

Folks - this kid is out for the year. Hate to see that happen to anyone. I am sure you all feel the same way. I doubt NovaWildcats intention was to turn this thread into another debate on "who is the best quarterback".
Best of luck to Young.

Whitney is a good prospect. W&M pursued him as well as a QB.
