Most Annoying Fan Bases in the FCS

Seeing the below list of the "most annoying" fan bases in the NFL, gave me the idea of who now has the most annoying fan base in the FCS?

At one time it was either Georgia Southern or Marshall, but they are now long gone, so who gets the honor? any why?

FUBeAR loved and HATED Marshall’s fans, but most of his direct interactions with them came prior to their ascension within I-AA. So, their Team sucked…but they didn’t let that put a bit of a damper on their belligerence, which made them lovable. Probably were a lot less so, when winning…and GaSou fans will always suck…though Appy fans were bigger whiners.

Woulda said WCU’s Fans were #1, but it seems they’ve decided to stop attempting to tear down non-rival (not really rivals at all) opponents’ goalposts after barely winning a meaningless regular season game. So, unless they have success under Coach Bell and decide to morph back into Marshall Fans with vandalistic tendencies, the Catamount peeps are good eggs.

So…that only leaves 1 group …. Without a doubt, the very few remaining fans of Some Citadel are #1 on this list. As they, for no apparent reason, feel they are #1 on every list, they will most likely, be quite proud of such a designation on this one.

JMU would've been #1 IMO prior to their departure.

Also comment on the NFL list => Dallas Cowboys fans are easily more annoying than Pats fans. And it's unfathomable that Pittsburgh is not on the list -- they have to be Top 5 IMO. Much more annoying than Giants fans (I'm a Jets fan btw). Giants fans remind me of Lafayette supporters -- extremely loyal, will continue to show up when the team stinks, generally somewhat humble -- for NY standards -- and not OVERLY obnoxious when they win.

While I can't dispute Philly at #1, Cowboys fans in NY are the worst. They're the ones that get upset at the bar when their game isn't on the audio over one of the local NFL teams or a Yankees playoff game. And they'll call the cable companies having a meltdown because there's always that one week every 3 years where somehow the Dallas game isn't on in the NY market (ex. Giants play at 1, Jets & Cowboys both at 4pm but Cowboys somehow not the FOX game) but this is very rare.

Well those first two are the same person and I'm definitely in group #4 - if you're talking about the animal go ahead and call it bye-son but if you're talking about North Dakota State football it's Bizon dammit!

South Dakota State - their team is good, their fans are horrible, closest I ever got to a physical fight at a tailgate was with these clowns at their place a few years back

What's funny about that is I was at the UD/SDSU playoff game.

I guess I had a difference experience with Ga So fans. I'm sure they had their share of miscreants, but when I would go there, they were fairly nice. Last time I went was in 2015 and they were downright hospitable. Could have had all the free drinks and food I wanted walking through the parking lot with "The Citadel" across my sweatshirt. Maybe because they were FBS then.

The majority of most fan bases in the SOCON are fairly good. There are obviously exceptions for individual butt heads.

As I recall, Charleston Southern fans, what there is of them, aren't exactly model fans though. You'd think the Baptists would be nicer.

They have a club team who is actually not bad by any means and have won at their respective levels, but back in the day (over a decade ago) I started to wear an NDSU hockey jersey and I honestly believe I may have been the only one to do it but now the kids these days seem to do it as well.

It was the best way to spot me in the crowd. Look for the average height guy wearing a Ravens hat and an NDSU hockey jersey.

The only time I've ever had a bad experience with opposing fans, it was at ILSU and I was in WIU's band. I chalk that up more to a few drunken idiots in the tailgate area (they threw raw meat at us). The vast majority of Redbird fans I've met (including 4th and short) have been very friendly and welcoming whenever I've ventured over that way.

Around AGS, I guess the closest to "annoying" I've seen is from a select few NDSU fans, but that's probably just due to there being so many of them...there's bound to be an occasional annoyance every now and then.

The only fans I find annoying are the NDSU fans that post on social media saying how bored they are. How attendance is down for games and how they really only get up for the championship game in Frisco.
They have been on the most historic run ever and I don't see an end in the near future, however that run can come to an end nothing is forever.

I guess that worked out. When it comes to total national media exposure for the school, I'd say that NCAA DI Hockey and FCS Football are roughly even. Obviously, in certain pockets, hockey is king -- New England, upstate NY, the state of Minnesota. But overall, NDSU winning 10 out of 11 national titles in Men's Ice Hockey probably results in similar media exposure that you guys have received for such parallel success at this level of college football.


Have you seen attendance at D1 hockey at the University of MN. It looks like a really ****ty FCS team. What were the ratings for the last D1 hockey championship game. Did they break a million?

And UND sucks at hockey, there, I said it, nobody throws more money at a niche sport than those clowns. I am sure the ND taxpayers that subsidized their stupid name change offset some expenses and the hundreds of millions some Vegas Nazi tossed at them would help but it didn’t. One Natty since 2000 for the most heavily funded college hockey program in the country. Weak.
