Now if the Mets can just hold up their end of the bargain and collapse every year like they did this year all will be well. xrolleyesx

The players love him because he lets them do what they like. Dave Montgomery loves him because he won't talk back or make them spend money. It was predictable. But he's one of the worst game-day managers I've ever seen.

There are a number of Mets fans who think he did a hell of a job. Phils won the division, after all. Why mess with success?

Barrajas had a roster spot on the team this year as well - what the hell, let's keep him too!! Mesa, Alfonseca, etc, why tamper with success??? xrotatehx xrotatehx xrotatehx xrotatehx

Agreed, there. Gullick made a good move with him. Appears to be a guy with decent control and was pretty effective for them. Had only one real bad outing that I recall in DC. Rotation of Hamels, Kendrick, Lohse, Moyer? and ________? I get nauseous thinking of Eating...I mean Eaton.:D

Agreed, Lohse ain't anything to write home about but he's better than anything the Phils will find on the free market right now. Plus he's still pretty young. I say go with the Hamels, Kendrick, Lohse, Moyer rotation and bring Brett Myers back into the starting rotation. It will be easier finding a closer than it will a starting pitcher.

My tongue was firmly in cheek with the Lohse comment. Once they resign him, he'll continue to disappoint and then have 1 start every month or so that will keep you coming back. Kind of like the Phillies in general.

I was hoping that they would wait. I'd love to have Joe Torre.

Lohse will get too much money. Isn't his agent Scott Boras? I say sign the best closer available and move Myers back into the starting rotation. The rotation would be Hamels, Myers, Kendrick, Moyer and Eaton ( I think we're stuck with Eaton, the Phillies don't normally dump players that they have to pay.) Sign a bullpen set up pitcher and also resign Aaron Rowand.
