He should and hopefully will retire after this. No need to push it and become brain dead.

"The bottom line is, it was a malicious hit. It was uncalled for," Johnson said. "He's like the scarecrow. He wants to get courage while I wasn't looking, and hit me in my knee instead of trying to hit me in my head. God don't like ugly, you know what I mean?

"My knee ain't never hurt like it hurt today," Johnson said. "If you want to hit me, hit me in my head, hit me in my chest, don't hit me in my knee. I'm trying to eat just like everybody else. So, to hit me like that, that showed me what type of man he was."

Are you serious??? By the way it was the lion who wanted courage, not the scarecrow.

Seems to me these kind of injuries are happening more and more today. Very rare back in the 60s and 70s (Frank Gifford an exception). Something should be done about it. Not sure what.

He really blew the Wizard of Oz analogy and went overboard.

That said, if Green does not get the concussion and Johnson's knee gets blown out (which it very well could have) because of the cheap shot, do you think Johnson gets much sympathy or is talked about today. Probably not.

He completely overreacted but Johnson's career could have been over on that hit as well. I don't think Green did it on purpose since how many QBs are going to try to take on a 300 pounder up high but that block was a dangerous hit.

Green gave a legal block

Green gave a legal block

Never said it wasn't legal. If you listen to most analysts, they agree that that type of a block is a cheap shot that has a good chance of injuring the player that is being blocked.

Can't blame Green - the hit was perfectly legal and was clean. Blame the NFL if you don't like that kind of block.

38 year old QB, vs. 300lb 20 something DL.

You go low...

As a person who has played OL, I can tell you that type of hit is dangerous and cheap. That being said, I have no sympathy for Green or Johnson. They chose to play a dangerous sport for a living. That is what happens- people get hurt. If they didn't want to get hit, then they should have used their college degrees to get work, just like the rest of us. They chose to play football- they should both deal with it.

But standing over and taunting an unconscious man. Classless
