I do want to see this guy. Didn't know about the record until seeing the story just now on ESPNU. Also learned that Don Beebe is a Chadron State alum.

Woodhead was interviewed. Humble as heck. He's from Nebraska and they asked him if he was recruited by "Big Red." He said they were looking for a "taller, bigger running back" and said if you're looking for a "taller, bigger, running back, I'm not the one you're looking for."

They asked him if he thinks he can make it in the NFL and he said, "You know what? I'm just hoping I get a shot."

It's impressive that he set the record so early on in the season. You would think these kinds of records wouldn't get broken until the last two or three games.

I saw that story as well on Gameday--some beautiful country out there in Western Nebraska. The kid will defintily have his shot, he can be a great 3rd down back/ returner or even more. Like you said he seems like a great kid, I wish him well.

Again, if the NCAA counted playoff stats from AP's days like they do now, no one would ever touch AP's numbers.
