Conley Snidow Jr., the second-winningest football coach in Wofford College history, died Saturday in Midlothian, Va. He was 91.
Snidow compiled a 77-59-4 record while coaching the Terriers from 1953 through 1966. He held the record for most wins at Wofford for more than 35 years - current coach Mike Ayers surpassed him in 2001.
"He was just a super, super guy," Ayers said Saturday after coaching Wofford to a 28-7 victory over The Citadel in Charleston. "I know he's going to be missed, but he'll always be in the Wofford lore."
