Curt Schilling vs Jered Weaver

3:07 first pitch east coast 12:07 local time.

MLB really dropped the ball here. They make these two teams play late in Boston, cross country flight then they get the early game.

Oh ya, no game starts in prime time tonite because MLB had scheduled one of the NLDS games for that slot.

First time in '07 that Papi and Manny go deep back-to-back.

They certainly picked a fine time to do it!

BTW, lots of Sox fans in Anaheim, as expected.

Wow, I didn't expect the Red Sox to kill them like they currently are.

this allows Boston to possibly pitch Beckett 3 times in the ALCS. The LCS will have an extra day off this year.

Oct 12: TBD at Boston (Beckett)
Oct 13: TBD at Boston (Schilling?)
Oct 14: Off
Oct 15: Boston at TBD (Matsuzaka)
Oct 16: Boston at TBD (Beckett 3 days rest instead of 4?)
Oct 17: Off
Oct 18: Boston at TBD (Schilling regular rest)
Oct 19: Off
Oct 20: TBD at Boston (Matsuzaka reg rest)
Oct 21: TBD at Boston (Beckett reg rest)

no thanks, I can't stomach another Red Sox-Yankees series.

Col Hogan
October 7th, 2007, 05:43 PM
I don't care...I just want the series extended so the Sox can rest and the other team gets beat up...

UNHWildCats
October 7th, 2007, 05:53 PM
the red sox can rest. no matter what happens the ALCS starts friday. Though it would be nice if cleveland had to start either Sabathia or carmona in game 5 wedneday...

Is it me or does Joe Torre look like he just dosen't care ?

He knows even if he wins hes not coming back next year no reason really for him to care.

That helps with the extra day off. I would expect Wakefield to make the ALCS roster, perhaps even start in Game 3 over Dice K. Or even go to a four man rotation with Wake in Game 3 and Dice K in Game 4.

I think you gotta line it up for Beckett to pitch three times. Wakefield would be held back and be available for relief in game 3 if Matsuzaka struggles.

If the Sox get stretched to 7 in the ALCS and WS then this is how I see the pitching

ALCS
Beckett
Schilling
Matsuzaka
Beckett
Schilling
Matsuzaka (if he struggles in the first game Wake could start)
Beckett

WS
Schilling
Matsuzaka
Beckett
Wakefield
Schilling
Matsuzaka
Beckett

If Wakes back is still bothering him Lester moves up as the emergency starter/game 4 WS starter.
