Was watching the Florida LSU game and noticed on the score ticker at the bottom of the screen that they had the 1AA logo next to the Princeton Hampton score, of all the media outlets I would have thought that CBS sports would have it figured out by now xconfusedx

Personally I think you will see more and more of this. The change was dumb. The media is refusing to confuse people.

One of my favorite Kelly Bundy quotes ...
"They may call me bimbo, but at least they call me."

A lot of the non-ESPN network telecasts don't even list FCS games.
There is not enough room on the ticker to list "FCS (formerly known as I-AA)"

From what I've seen, CBS usually only shows Ivy League games on the bottom, so I wonder why it didn't just say "Ivy" in the conference space like it says "SEC" or "Big Ten".

ESPN puts all of the scores on the bottom line, but doesn't say if they are FBS or FCS or I-A or I-AA. ESPN's website does say I-A and I-AA on the scoreboard page.

I agree that the name change was dumb. Whenever they refer to college football now, its always something along the lines of "division 1a or fbs, or whatever they call it now." They claim they were trying to avoid confusion, but it seems like they are creating more of it.

Yahoo!'s scoreboard uses the FBS and FCS designations, and it seems to me that just by looking at it most people ought to be able to figure out pretty quickly that those are simply new names for I-A and I-AA:

I think a lot of people and media outlets (such as ESPN) make this much more difficult and confusing than it needs to be by clumsily trying to overexplain it.
