The Princeton Tigers needed a win. Sitting in third place for the Sally P. Shoemaker Trophy with just the V8 race left, the Tigers needed their top boat to secure a win to earn the Ivy League title. The V8 got out to an open water lead and held off a furious rally from Brown to collect the V8 Ivy crown.
