Weird end to the first half.
Towson intercepts the ball with about 15 seconds left.
Runs back to red zone, plus more for a facemask.
2 seconds left, Towson has a FG blocked.

Tigers stop UR again but stall on offense. Punt gives UR pretty solid position.

Damn, almost held em at the goal line.
Bradford shows why hes an All-American on 3rd and Goal with a huge stop, but UR punches it in on 4th.
Ties it up with a great catch for the 2 pt. conversion.
14 all.

Tigers driving...
Richmond hanging over from their big win over UNH last week?
Mmm...maybe a little. Both teams are riddled with injuries and Hightower is now missing.
Credit Towson for playing much better. Stout defense and finally a balanced attack where Schaefer isn't throwing every down. Tigers look much improved.

That was an amazing final drive in just 22 seconds! Schaeffer was incredible today and to complete four passes for 67 yards to win in 22 seconds is remarkable.

This was no cheap win. Tigers earned it and Schaefer sparked them back to life. Man, this is what we really needed. This could save our season from being really awful as it looked to be.

I hate TV commentators for that. The nose of the ball had crossed the goaline already, just not the whole thing. So yes his knee was down before the whole ball had crossed, but that has no impact on result of the play. You've just got to get the tip over front of the line.

I can't believe Richmond played the prevent at the end. Schaeffer had picked apart the defense all day when he had time...so why give him time? Towson's defensive line played really well, but I'm really disappointed Richmond couldn't make any plays the last 20 seconds.

I was a little dumbfounded by that too. I was like....28 seconds....one sack should take care of this game and then they dropped 7 or 8 back into coverage every time.
I guess the coach thought that Schaefer was bound to make a mistake soon, as he has all season.

I was just listening to the game at that point as I had switched over the tele to watch another game for a hot second, so all I heard was the audio and didn't see whether he actually broke the plane or not, just going by what they said.

Congrats to the Tigers on todays win, it's back to the drawing board for my Spiders.
Two key players out today on the a young D squad, I wonder if that had anything to do with the conservatie play calling. Who knows, SS was fanstastic, we had no answer.

Good game Tigers, that last drive was something! Your QB looks like a pro prospect....

October 7th, 2007, 01:48 PM
Thanks guys! Sucks that we're both so plagued with injuries.
Also, I don't think Sean has the size or speed to be a pro prospect. At his size, he would have to be mobile enough to roll the pocket sometimes and create passing lanes, which, against NFL speed, he would be gobbled up. Great QB for the CAA though. :)
