Fine showing by the RedWingedOnes. Last year, they got a lot of press in the Minneapolis area for what they did to Minnesota.

I got to see first hand what the Birds were able to do to the 'clones. The Ia State came out tentative and expecting they could just run over Ill State. That was not to be had. The redbirds front 7 beat up the clones for most of the first half and only waned in the later stages of the game. Il States WR Robinson burned Ia States defensive backs on just about every route he ran. He was impressive. I think think if Denver would have gone to him more, as opposed to running on 3rd and 3, the outcome might have been different. The difference was that Ia State made bettter adjustments throught the game. If the 'birds can keep this kind of intensity up throughout an entire season Ill St fans might have something to cheer about. However, they put up big numbers last year against Minnesota and had another mediocre year in the Gateway.

Thanks Reed, what we got out of that game is Luke Drone is a player, our defense kicked ass, and our special teams needs alot of help!!! I also think by running all the time, that made Iowa State loosen up on Laurent Roobinson and that helped him become free in the 2nd half. They were still looking for Thompson!
