Looks like a 1-2-3 for both teams in the first. I may need to go home.

Are they in a rain delay? Nothing has updated for 10 minutes in the bottom of the fourth.

Must be a hell of a breeze blowing on the other side of the Walt Whitman Bridge. The Phils have fanned 7 times in the first 4 innings!

Anyone watching on TV? Did Helms hit it to the warning track?

Why is Wes Helms in the game? All he does is bring the suck. I'm going to start calling Chollie "Norv Turner" at this rate.

I am following on Yahoo and am confused.
Did Francis bat in the top of the 7th and then they brought in a reliever for him to start the bottom of the 7th. Why not send a pinch hitter in for him? Is he just a good hitter or did he get injured or did the manager decide between innings that he had had enough?

With this streak that the Rockies are on, I have to imagine that they are the favorites out of the NL to make the World Series.

Pete may have been shunned by the baseball aristocracy, but the baseball gods always shined upon him. xnodx
The addition of Pete Rose brought the Phillies the 1980 World Series title (they would have been the same ol' '79 Phils without him), he is the presence the baseball gods want to see. xthumbsupx xthumbsupx xthumbsupx
Pete Rose, or his likeness, is the only one who can bring the Phillies a championship.
Change your avatar!
Edit: I've brought out Pete to counteract your Von Hayes curse. The Phillies now have an even chance tomorrow.

Saddest thing I've seen in years was Pete Rose at a sports memorabilia store at the Forum Shops at Ceasars Palace. He's just sitting there, waiting to be paid to autograph something, but nobody is going in. Meanwhile, a couple of employees are outside trying to get people's attention and asking them to enter the store....
I had my powder blue phillies hat, complete with the maroon squiggly 'P,' at the hotel. I thought about getting it and comming back to the shop for him to autograph.

Dalton has three super human abilities:
he can time travel
he can talk to lizards
he can pick up hot women
The third one is the only one that matters.

Right; it took about a year of Rose's example, plus the firing of Danny Ozark and the hiring of Dallas Green, to get the Phils over the hump. But it was wonderful to see them win. The play-offs against Houston (every game in extra innings) may have been the greatest ever.
Rose may be a gambler, but he was also knew how to win; as I recall, he really busted Mike Schmidt's chops and made him even better than he already was. Schmidt's 1980 season was one for the ages.
