National Player of the Week Honors Announced

University of San Diego quarterback Josh Johnson, Yale University runningback Mike McLeod, Lehigh University linebacker Tim Diamond and Jacksonville State University return specialist Maurice DuPree are the recipients of College Sporting News national Football Championship Subdivision honors for the week ending October 1, 2007.

Glad to see Josh Johnson finally receiving some recognition this year. His performances in every game have been worthy this year, but it took beating an undefeated Butler to get him on the radar.... How interesting is that? Good for Josh and good for Butler in that they became a "team to beat" in the PFL and not the normal easy win as of late. Go Josh, Go USD, Go Butler, and heck, why not, GO PFL baby!!!!!

Lehigh's Diamond is a junior (reported as a senior elsewhere). The kid was all over the field Saturday, and ironically, was one of the players at the pre-game Wednesday luncheon. His 22 tackles tied a school record.
